about

For its 382nd release, MoBlack Records summons Elfenberg and
Kintar on remix duties, to pay homage to the very deity that
breathes lifeblood and soul to the music the label has grown to
stand for. Spanish producer, Kintar maneuvers our descent into
"Alkebulan," vigorously unleashing fundamental energy from earth
all the way to fingertips, awakening sensory impulses with his
reinterpretation - a rhapsodic intercourse of mundane instruments
and a forward-thinking yet equally deferential electronic touch.
Amidst a robust build up, a mesmerizing tribal chant tumbles in
tension, poignant electronic riff and tender melodies groove,
exposing the beauty of complexity and the rich strata of history
and stories inherent in the 'mother of mankind.'
Kintar's dynamic rendition gives way to Elfenberg's original, and
as ears are stretched taut from its precursor's temper, the
celestial B-side sinks in deeper and elevates to a blissful state of
trance with no resistance. The Swedish duo disseminate a
touching melody and transient vocals into the wind, drawing on
delicate drums and solemn percussion to exhale perpetual
motion. While the remix engages bodies to dance more,
"Alkebulan" allows minds to wander further, whether farther or
deeper, harnessed by the warmth of land, comforted by reprieve
within the bosom of earth, the mother.
