about

Upon his welcome return on MoBlack Records, South Italian producer Ayala casts a blissful
symphonic journey, taking listeners on a scenic drive through the breathtaking landscapes of
“Congo.” Compelled by the exquisite simplicity of beat and mesmerizing elegance of tribal
rhythms and ethnic soundscapes, Francesco Tarantini immerses in the rousing vigor of Afro
House but allows himself to wander off and indulge in futuristic reverie, candidly tapping into an
ingenious new musical juncture. Ayala’s Congo delicately unravels as subtle bass, fleeting wind
and lush percussion waft in harmonious symphony, dosed with cautious optimism until poignant
vocals take hold and over. While organic sounds and native instrumentation inanimate the 9:45
minute voyage, it is their digitalized translation and Tarantini’s idealistic electronic handiwork
that unearth an equally stunning wonder, arriving in the Congo one can only reach with their
eyes closed.
Cosmic Disco pioneer and house luminary Daniele Baldelli and veteran DJ Marco Dionigi team
up once again and lend their mastery of dancefloor decorum through the most defining decades
of house in its broad form, providing an unparagoned, genre-bending rearrangement of
“Congo.” An upbeat bassline and fierce claps, unmistakably house, elaborated by sentimental
electric guitar riffs and riveting vibrato, build up the Baldelli-Dionigi remix. A deep-rooted Afro
soulfulness respires with each diction of the vocals’ grip at the very marrow of both B1 and its
radio edit, but subtly and reprieving. It’s the sophisticated electronic maneuver and
retro-forward momentum only champions of new wave and dauntless experimentalists can
proffer, that sew quirky grooves, eclectic synth soundwaves and a bit of rhythm and blues with a
rock flair so seamlessly. And no other than the Baldelli-Dionigi tandem can deliver just that, at
utmost caliber.
