Pioneering Afro House label MoBlack Records continues to expand its breadth, pushing the
genre’s boundaries, this time taking breakthrough artist Tshinooz to center stage for its 388th
release. The Moroccan rising star basks in his moment, unfolding a 7:19 minute sojourn replete
with exhilarating ethnic soundscapes and deep-seated Morrocan ambience, not only in its
traditional sense. Inspired by the art of preserving legacy and the pastiche of cross-generational
cultures that enrich the landmass bridging the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Alae Eddine Semlali
seams an elegant tapestry of tribal rhythms, organic sound contraptions, and nudges of
synthetic overture. Soulful Amazigh vocals rivet at the core of Tshinooz’ debut solo composition,
elevating his own definition of “Legacy” into a soothingly feminine, multi-dimensional
experience, nonetheless underlining the pertinence of traditional music and transmutability of
local lore within the widening electronic music spectrum, made possible by the power of House.
